A 51-year-old man was arrested on drug charges in Polk County, but what deputies discovered during a body scan left officials stunned. According to Sheriff Grady Judd, deputies found a thermos bottle concealed inside the man’s body — a situation he described as unprecedented.
The incident began when deputies responded to reports of a naked individual inside a public park restroom. When they arrived, the man, identified as Walter Frymire, was fully dressed. Deputies issued him a trespass warning and released him.
Shortly after, Frymire was seen walking onto nearby railroad tracks, prompting deputies to engage with him again. This time, they arrested him. During the arrest, authorities discovered methamphetamine in his possession. Records show Frymire has a lengthy criminal history, including 25 prior arrests and five trips to state prison.
As part of the jail intake process, Frymire underwent a body scan — standard procedure to prevent weapons or contraband from entering the facility. It was during this scan that deputies observed a thermos bottle lodged inside his body.
“He brought a thermos into jail. That’s right — he put it in the exit ramp,” Sheriff Judd explained, using his typical blunt tone. Frymire allegedly told deputies the thermos bottle had been inserted approximately 24 hours prior but clarified he had not swallowed it.
Authorities transported Frymire to the hospital for medical treatment. According to Judd, the man later returned to jail, now “thermosless.”
Officials did not disclose the contents of the thermos bottle or announce the specific charges Frymire faces following the incident.
