Politics and Pleasure: Election Day On Pornhub

Posted on November 10, 2024March 1, 2025 by Strange Days

Pornhub has disclosed top election-related searches by state, revealing a unique peek into the election day on Pornhub and the online interests of Americans during the voting period. In the days surrounding the election, some users turned to political-themed searches, especially in Florida, where residents actively browsed the site for content merging adult themes with political ones. In fact, “MAGA” became Florida’s most-searched term, as Trump-supporting residents leaned into Republican-related content for their entertainment.

The exclusive data, shared with The Post, covered user activity from Sunday, Nov. 3, through Wednesday, Nov. 6, capturing each state’s distinct preferences. Analysts tracked relative search terms to see what residents in each state searched more often compared to other regions, creating an unusual map of the country’s tastes on election day on Pornhub.

Pornhub search terms by state.

While Floridians searched political terms, Californians trended toward content tagged “thick and curvy,” while people in Georgia preferred “panties.” Meanwhile, swing-state Pennsylvania showed a notable rise in “tushy” content searches around election time. Pornhub’s data also highlighted that traffic jumped by 7% across the country on election day on Pornhub, with users seeking to de-stress. Early morning visits spiked between 8 and 9 a.m., right before people hit the polls, underscoring the unusual role adult content played as voters faced a tense political climate.

However, traffic dropped by 16% from 6 p.m. to midnight as viewers paused to tune into election results. And in some states—Alabama, Texas, and Utah among them—viewers couldn’t participate in these trends at all due to restricted site access. Ultimately, the data showed Americans may differ in political beliefs but often share similar online habits, especially during major events.
