UFO Sightings Surge Across North America Ahead of “Alien Abduction Day”

Posted on March 21, 2026

UFO Sightings: A Growing Pattern in the Sky

As March 20—National Alien Abduction Day—rolls around again, a fresh wave of data is stirring up conversation, curiosity… and maybe a little unease. Across the United States and Canada, thousands of reported UFO sightings are painting a strange, flickering map of where the unexplained seems to linger most.

And honestly, the numbers feel less like trivia and more like something you might glance at twice before heading outside at night.

America’s Unexpected UFO Hotspots

According to Casino.ca’s reporting on newly analyzed reports sourced from the National UFO Reporting Center and social media discussions, UFO sightings continue to cluster in unexpected places. Delaware, surprisingly, has emerged as America’s top hotspot. With one reported sighting for every 928 residents, the small state has logged over 1,000 encounters since 1974—many involving glowing cylinders and hovering lights that don’t quite behave like anything… familiar.

Washington follows closely behind, long associated with eerie skies and unexplained aerial phenomena. With nearly 7,600 reported incidents, the state averages one sighting per 977 residents. That’s not exactly rare. Not exactly comforting either.

New York lands in third place, where witnesses have described everything from “tic-tac-shaped objects” to fast-moving silver orbs. And then there’s Oregon and Florida, rounding out the top five—states where UFO sightings seem just common enough to keep people watching the sky a little longer than usual.

Where You’re Least Likely to See a UFO

Then again, not everywhere is quite so… active.

If avoiding UFO sightings is your goal—no judgment—Louisiana might be your safest bet. With just one sighting per 3,464 people, it ranks as the least likely place in the U.S. to encounter anything extraterrestrial. A quiet sky, relatively speaking. Almost suspiciously quiet.

Canada’s Sky: Even More Active?

Up north, Canada tells a slightly different story, and it’s arguably more intense. Alberta now claims the title of the country’s UFO capital, with one sighting for every 568 residents. Wide open skies, fewer city lights—perfect conditions, depending on how you look at it.

Ontario isn’t far behind, logging over 22,000 sightings. Witness accounts range from multi-light orbs to fast-moving triangular crafts—descriptions that feel oddly consistent, even across decades. British Columbia, Manitoba, and Quebec also rank high, forming a kind of corridor of frequent UFO sightings stretching across the country.

Meanwhile, Newfoundland and Labrador sits at the opposite end of the spectrum. With just 70 reported incidents since 1974, it’s statistically the least likely place in Canada to spot anything unusual in the sky. If you’re looking for peace of mind—or just uninterrupted stargazing—that might be the place.

More Than Just UFO Sightings

These aren’t isolated stories anymore. They stack up. They repeat. They echo each other in ways that are hard to fully dismiss.

So whether you’re a skeptic, a believer, or just someone who occasionally glances up at the night sky and wonders what’s really out there—this surge in UFO sightings adds another layer to the mystery. Not proof. Not quite. But not nothing either.
