Ozempic Side Effect? Male Users Report Increase in Genital Size

Posted on June 8, 2025June 8, 2025 by Strange Days

A growing number of male Ozempic users are reporting an unexpected development after starting the popular weight-loss injection: an apparent increase in penis size. Online forums, particularly Reddit, have seen a surge in anecdotal accounts of what some are calling a surprising Ozempic side effect.

One anonymous Reddit user shared that he noticed about a one-inch increase in length. He added that the change did not appear to be related to overall weight loss, claiming he had been thinner at the time of a prior measurement taken years earlier.

Another commenter responded, noting a gain of 1.5 inches in length after seven months on Tirzepatide, a medication in the same class as Ozempic. He attributed the change not solely to weight loss, stating, “Definitely not all from weight loss.”

While some users speculate that the size difference is due to improved blood flow and reduced fat in the pubic area—a plausible explanation—others have dismissed the claims as a misinterpretation of measurement conditions or bodily fluctuations influenced by temperature or time of day.

Medical experts have not confirmed any direct link between Ozempic and increased genital size. The discussion appears to be part of a broader trend in which users report a range of unusual reactions. In addition to this latest claim, other documented Ozempic side effects include facial changes referred to as “Ozempic mouth,” characterized by skin sagging and wrinkle formation around the lips and chin.

Ozempic, a GLP-1 receptor agonist approved for type 2 diabetes and increasingly prescribed for weight loss, has surged in popularity since becoming widely available in 2024. As its use expands, so does the list of reported side effects—some more scientifically supported than others.

Despite the speculation, medical professionals advise users to approach such anecdotal accounts with caution, as personal perception and measurement variability can lead to misleading conclusions. Nonetheless, the growing attention around this particular Ozempic side effect is prompting curiosity and further discussion within the medical and user communities.
