UFO’s Spotted Above Queens as Viral Clip Fuels Online Theories

Posted on March 14, 2026

A strange little scene unfolded over New York City recently—one of those moments where people pause, squint at the sky, and wonder if they just witnessed something unusual. Reports of UFO’s spotted above Gotham started circulating after a brief but puzzling sighting captured attention online. Three glowing dots hovered quietly overhead, drifting across the night sky like tiny lanterns that had somehow slipped their strings.

Charlie Correa, who lives in Corona, Queens, said the whole thing began when he stepped outside and glanced upward. At first he thought he was watching a shooting star streak across the sky. But then something odd happened—two more lights appeared, sliding into view as if they were following the first. Within seconds, the trio seemed to move around one another in a loose dance. Correa managed to record an 18-second clip and posted it to Reddit, where viewers quickly began debating whether the footage showed UFO’s spotted above the city or something far more ordinary.

In the video, the glowing dots travel together in a shifting triangular pattern. They pause briefly, almost hovering, then dart away again. The motion isn’t smooth like a commercial airplane or predictable like a satellite. Instead, it looks—well—erratic. A bit playful, even. The kind of movement that makes people tilt their heads and say, “Wait… what was that?”

Correa addressed a few theories in the comment section beneath the clip. He noted that he owns a drone himself and explained that typical drones display clear blinking lights—usually red or green—or sometimes no lights at all while recording. The objects he saw didn’t quite match that pattern. Naturally, speculation snowballed. Some commenters joked about secret government tech. Others wondered aloud if these were simply more UFO’s spotted in the increasingly crowded skies over New York.

Of course, government agencies do track unexplained sightings. The Federal Aviation Administration said it records reports of what are officially called Unidentified Aerial Phenomena, or UAP, whenever pilots report them to air traffic control. If additional data—like radar—supports the report, the information may be shared with the government’s UAP Task Force for further review. Officials declined to comment on the specific Reddit footage, though, leaving the mystery… well, still a mystery.

Online investigators quickly proposed alternative explanations. Maybe birds were reflecting city lights. Maybe the objects were distant aircraft near LaGuardia Airport. Someone even suggested satellites catching sunlight at just the right angle. Correa wasn’t entirely convinced by the airplane theory, pointing out that LaGuardia sits roughly a mile north of his home and that aircraft traffic in the area usually comes with recognizable sounds or flight patterns.

And then there were the jokers—because the internet always delivers at least one. One commenter shrugged off the whole thing with a playful explanation: “Nah, those are just stars playing tag.”

Still, sightings like this aren’t unheard of. Data from recent reports suggests dozens of unexplained aerial events have been recorded over New York in the past year alone. In fact, there was even a near-miss incident involving a commercial aircraft and a mysterious cylindrical object off the Atlantic coast in 2024, adding fuel to the conversation about unusual activity in the skies.

Despite the speculation, officials continue to emphasize that there’s no confirmed evidence linking these incidents to extraterrestrial technology. A report from the Pentagon’s All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office stated clearly that investigators have found no proof of alien life or advanced off-world machinery behind these events.

Still… when three glowing dots drift across the night sky and vanish without explanation, people can’t help but wonder. Were they drones, birds, satellites—or just another case of UFO’s spotted above the city lights?
